Paper is one of the easiest materials to recycle yet it makes up 35% of Americas trash alone.
Household Hazardous Waste facilities help the prevention of hazardous materials entering our waste streams and landfills. For Elk Grove residents, there are two facilities that can be used free of charge.

At both facilities, maximum of 15 gallons of liquid or 150 lbs. of solid material accepted. Residents disposing of more than the allowable amount will be charged a minimum of $25 per drop-off.

Allied Waste Now Picking up E-waste
In an effort to help our residents dispose of e-waste safely and efficiently, Allied Waste is now picking up e-waste curbside, free of charge, by appointment only. Call Allied Waste at 635-2500 to make an appointment and Allied will pick up your e-waste curbside on your regular trash service day.
Allowable items to be discarded include LCD and Plasma televisions, computers*, computer monitors, telephones, answering machines, radios, stereo equipment, tape players/recorders, DVD, CD and videocassette players/recorders, copiers and fax machines.
E-waste will not be picked up by Allied Waste without an appointment.
*Please remove all data from your computer hard drive. Allied Waste is not responsible for any remaining data left on your computer system.
