Illegal Dumping

Illegal Dumping is the disposal of materials on private, public, and/or City property. Excess trash and large items should be taken to a Waste Center while Hazardous Waste Materials should be taken to a Household Hazardous Waste Facility. Illegal dumping not only makes Elk Grove unsightly but also attracts crime, creates the impression that an area is dangerous and uncared for, and discourages community use of public spaces.
Many times, materials that are dumped illegally are also likely to be hazardous. The reason for illegal dumping is that people don't want to exert the effort required to dispose of environmentally harmful materials properly and/or to avoid municipal fees.
